Organizing Notes
Deepink keeps notes flexible through a simple lifecycle: create, organize, store, and remove.
Creating a note
Section titled “Creating a note”Create a new note with Cmd + N to quickly capture your idea.
If you have an active tag in the current view, that tag is automatically assigned to a new note. You can change this behavior in Workspace settings to assign no tags to new notes.
Tagging
Section titled “Tagging”Tags are the primary way to organize notes in your workspace.
- A note can have multiple tags
- You can add or change tags at any time
- Tags control how notes are grouped and filtered
- You can create nested tags like
diary/sport/2025
You can create many notes without tags to capture ideas quickly and organize them later.
Pinning
Section titled “Pinning”Pin a note to keep it at the top of the list.
- Pinned notes always appear above others in the same view
- Useful for active or important notes
Favorites (Starred notes)
Section titled “Favorites (Starred notes)”Star a note to access it quickly later.
- Starred notes are collected in the Favorites view
- This is independent of tags and pinning
Archiving
Section titled “Archiving”Archive a note to hide it from the main list without deleting it.
- Archived notes are moved to the Archive tab
- You can restore them at any time
Bin (Trash)
Section titled “Bin (Trash)”Deleted notes are moved to the Bin.
Unlike the Archive, the Bin temporarily holds notes that are not needed anymore — for example, in case of accidental deletion or if you change your mind.
In vault settings, you can set up a retention policy for the Bin. You can automate permanent deletion of notes that were moved to the Bin more than N days ago.
Permanent deletion
Section titled “Permanent deletion”You can permanently delete a note from the Bin.
- This action cannot be undone
- The note is removed immediately
